Jake The Plumber with Safety Gear

Meeting the Challenge of COVID-19 at Jake the Plumber

In this increasingly difficult time of pandemic, at Jake the Plumber we have been learning as much as we can about plumbing, home visits, and COVID-19. Based on the best available information, including the IAPMO (International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials), we have invested in Hazmat suits, full face respirators, and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Note that viruses like COVID-19 can live in sewer and drain piping.

Our goal is to provide the best service we can while ensuring the health and safety of everyone concerned – our plumbers and our customers. Using hazardous material suits is expensive – but we want everyone to be safe.

To cover these costs and the risks involved, we are temporarily changing our fee to time and a half (1.5x usual rate) for regular business hour visits Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We are now offering limited-service after hours and weekend service, and will be charging double time after 5 p.m. Please call our office with any questions, especially if this places undue hardship.

We are also implementing additional options for video diagnostic and troubleshooting, as well as performing estimates, to help combat price increases. We want to continue to be of service to our customers and help maintain public health in our community.

Yours in service and solidarity,
